FASHION JEWELRY DESIGNERS TO KNOW SCOOP, SAATCHI GALLERY LONDON

I headed down to Scoop at the Saatchi Gallery in London to check out some amazing designers and to pick out our favorite fashion jewelry pieces. There certainly were plenty of gorgeous gems to choose from. Top of our list is Madame Reve.

SCOOP

It was here at SCOOP that GEMOLOGUE first discovered the fabulously extravagant jewelry by Madame Reve. Gorgeous gems with the luxury of gold, each piece that was on display was a feast for the senses and instantly attracted us to them.

SCOOP

The group is made up of two friends, the designer-duo Hala Mouzannar & Lina Chamaa have always shared a real passion for vintage and fashion. Together they combined their love of these styles with their talent to mix the present and the past. The result of their work is a very unique and new style of accessorizing that we just adore! Trying on some of these show stopping pieces was just a dream.

SCOOP

I caught up with Madame Reve at the show: “Our story started in September 2004 with a passion for vintage, a love for accessories, a respect for the environment, the wisdom to recycle, a curiosity to travel, and the energy to make it happen!”

SCOOP

Madame Reve travel the fashion capitals such as New York, Milan and Paris to seek out the most amazing jewels and inspiration for their collections. The dynamic team will explore everywhere from flea markets to vintage shows in their quest. Their aim: To unearth the precious, the unique and individual! Also, each of the selected pieces reflect the period in which it was made, their genuine antique pieces could have been made anytime from the late 19th century to the 1970’s onward!

SCOOP

We had to take a closer look, I love how each stunning jewel is radically reworked and embellished with high-end fabrics, stones and pearls! The signature look involves the main part of the jewel being vintage. It’s these antique pieces that intermingle with cultured pearls, gold-plated chains and exclusive silk ribbons- Decadent jewellery at it’s finest. Madame Reve gets a big thumb up from us!

SCOOP

I also had the chance to meet the lovely team behind Loroetu, this silver jewellery brand also caught our eye as we browsed the show at the stunning location. This sensational brand was born in Milano in 2010, the team behind Loroetu work to create authentic and intentionally linear jewels with a refined and sleek look. Behind the name are Monica Antonietta Pria Dolfini (who is a goldsmith / metal designer) and Sabrina Pria Dolfini as the creative director and brand manager.

SCOOP

Just picking one of these pieces up and you will feel the positivity just emanating from them! The bright and beautifully quirky creations open up one’s imagination and emotional response by carrying statements of awareness. Each jewel is embedded with positive and strong words that aim to make the wearer feel empowered and happier – The world certainly needs more happiness!

SCOOP

Loroetu is also known as “gioielli ribelli” or ‘rebel jewels’, this is because the jewels have a powerful voice! These are chic jewels that force people to perhaps think in a better more alternative way instead of the mundane. We at GEMOLOGUE are all about alternative thinking when it comes to jewelry- so Loroetu is a big hit with us!

SCOOP

Take a close look at the jewels for yourself, each necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings are adorned with life altering meaning. The statements are carefully chosen for their ability to open up one’s imagination, to encourage humanity and the universal values that we all as human being’s possess.

SCOOP

Yael Salomon has long been a favorite of GEMOLOGUE, so it was great to see her exhibiting at Scoop! If it’s a mix of the modern and the vintage that one is looking for, then these are the perfect jewels for you. The designer creates jewels that are timeless on design with the wearability factor!  Working in a variety of different metals and precious stones, we loved discovering the collection for Scoop!

SCOOP

Born in France in 1973, Yael Salomon first took a one year internship at Balenciaga in 1993. Working in the artistic direction department after which she moved to Tel-Aviv, and gained a position at an auction house. The designer immersed herself in the fascinating world of modern and contemporary art, after which Yael joined the Shenkar Design Academy for four years studying jewelry design. She began to develop and utilize her own design abilities and aspirations, since then Yael has been flirting with design in all of its guises. She has worked on retail, interiors as well as industrial design projects.

SCOOP

Not only do we love the designs but it’s the craftsmanship that we love. Yael ertainly has an eye for exquisite detail and it showed throughout her work at Scoop. The pure forms mixed with feminine lines bring about a real sensuality, a strong attractiveness that all of us girls long for!

SCOOP

Melissa Curry creates some of the most vibrant jewels ever! GEMOLOGUE discovered more from this brave new designer at Scoop.

SCOOP

These jewels certainly pack a style punch! Melissa’s vision and powerful designs has encouraged collaborations with leading brand names Absolut, Swarvoski, Toni & Guy (Natalia Campaign) and Phillipe Stark @ Bon. All of these brands have commissioned the designer one-off projects that unified their branding with fresh and exciting concepts. Melissa has her own unique way of making colour, shape and tactility really speak. The visionary drive of her work is just amazing so we had to find out more!

SCOOP

The beautiful pieces from the ‘Oh la la’ collection on display at Scoop are made from light and colourful acrylic cones. Each cone is linked with faceted black crystal beads to add a touch of sparkle to the jewellery pieces.

SCOOP

Melissa is influenced by a wide range of subjects, everything from world events to a personal and cultural history. It is so clear that the designs on display reflected a variety of different moods. We found styles inspired by the ancient power of of the Orient to the romance of film, there was also a touch of the mystical Celtic mythology in there too. Her ‘Smarties’ collection is an interpretation of the need for hope and endurance. It was designed during the Obama Presidential Campaign and presented to Michelle Obama during her state visit to Ireland last year.

SCOOP

There was a part of Melissa Curry’s collection that was largely inspired by the Gold Rush. GEMOLOGUE found a contagious energy and enthusiasm that we wanted! All this power was evoked in each piece. The faceted cubes and the slick bars of glass coated in a metallic gold make these pieces truly eye catching and so very alluring- we just wanted to wear them all day!
