FLOWER-INSPIRED GEMOLOGUE JEWELLERY EDIT

Flowers have inspired beautiful jewelry designs for centuries. It’s quite remarkable how jewelers have immortalized the delicate, fleeting beauty of flowers in bloom in gold and gemstones. Some of my recent favorites are here, especially Boucheron’s floral ring rendered in real petals that are treated and made into everlasting petals.

Speak flowers to me! What message does this gorgeous jewel convey to you? Let me know in comments!

In the Victorian era, flowers were primarily used to express what couldn’t be spoken aloud ? In a sort of silent dialogue, they were used to answer “yes” or “no” questions. A “yes” answer came when flowers were handed over with the right hand and if the left hand was used, the answer was “no.” I don’t know about you, but looking at this stunning necklace it’s needless to say anything… ?

I DO! My love for flowers is forever… Just like diamonds ? What is your take on flower-inspired jewels?

CONFESSION: At the civil ceremony my fiancé wore a flower, which appeared in my bridal bouquet, in his button-hole. I discovered recently that this stems from the Medieval tradition of wearing his Lady’s colours, as a declaration of his love. The Forget-Me-Not @harrywinston collection is like a subtle expression of my affection for jewels!

Beautiful jewels make my heart blossom. What’s your favourite flower and why?

My mum loves orchids and it always makes me smile seeing her talk to them as if they were actual family members. Apparently feeling the love makes them bloom. Just like us humans! Orchids are said to represent love, luxury, beauty and strength. These stunning earrings evoke the exact same qualities within me. It makes me so proud to be chosen as the face of the @silviafurmanovich collection they come from.

The earth laughs in flowers! No wonder why flower jewellery always makes me smile. Comment what gemstone represents happiness to you?

Jardin de Milly-la-Forêt is my favourite @Dior collection ever. A few times it even appeared in my dreams. Designs inspired by the favourite garden of Monsieur Dior himself deliver a vivid and colourful story from the artist’s life.

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and I cannot live without jewels! What important moments of your life do you associate with jewellery?

Jewellery boxes are like secret gardens I could get lost in for days. And this cocktail ring takes me to the crocus fields closed in the beautiful amethyst. The hypnotising purple of the gemstone and tender enamel flower details on the side of this @ilgiz_f 48ct gemstone keep me mesmerised. So rich in colour, yet so delicate.

Ivy League among jewellery designers. Guess who created this wonderful jewel?

Flower-inspired art has been always taking my breath away. The world of jewellery shares the same sentiment for it as van Gogh or Monet did. This hand piece is like a work of art you can carry around wherever you go. Similar to evergreen ivy growing up the walls my love for flowers and beautiful jewels is unstoppable

Bewitched by the beauty of flowers! In Russia we believe that flowers should be given only in odd numbers. Do you know why?

Thank god we don’t have to be that superstitious with jewellery! Wearing these opal adorned earrings from @guitamjewelry you’d feel as fresh as a daisy. This combination of hypnotising gemstones and delicate flowers makes heads turn ?

Life is too short not to wear beautiful jewellery ? Do you prefer delicate pieces or the ones that make a statement?

Like an opulent baroque painting, the form of @bibivandervelden choker makes an impression of exuberance and grandeur. Gracefully winding around the neck it delights with the delicately crafted elements, yellow gold tulip and blackened silver ants crawling around its stem. Memento Mori collection is a the most elegant visual reminder to enjoy life!

Adorn your house with flowers, and your fingers with gemstones! If you could own a ring from @sevanbicakcijewellery what flower would you choose?

Sevan Bicakci has a gift for transforming precious metals and gems into majestic works of art that enchant the world. His sources of inspiration come from Istanbul’s landscape: The Bosphorus, seagulls, the Maiden’s Tower, mosques and churches.

Roses are red… but not for Dior! Which one of these stunning rings from @victoiredecastellane collection would you choose? Let me know in comments!

In nature roses also come in a variety of shades. My family always pays attention to the meaning of colour of the ones we put in our bouquets. To make it easier for you I prepared the ?ROSE CHEAT SHEET?:

Red: love, desire

White: purity, innocence

Pink: grace, happiness

Yellow: jealousy

Orange: desire, enthusiasm

Flowers inspire growth and reconnection with the beauty surrounding us. How do you stay connected to nature these days?

The beautiful scents and petals of flowers have been attracting insects for over millions of years. Have you ever wondered why humans find them equally luring? ? It might be the symmetrical form, soft lines and bright shades of flowers petals! Whatever the reason, blossoms have been always deeply significant to us on all level: aesthetical, cultural and religious.

I weren’t a jewellery blogger, I would certainly became a florist ?? What flower would be your own talisman?

Staying connected is so important to me during this unusual period. With many of us self-isolating and working from home I am looking to the future with optimism and hope ? Reminiscing my joyful jewellery memories I would like to share them with you. Here’s the glimpse of my work in Brazil. In my imagination I like to come back to these hot summer days, the warm touch of the Sun on my skin and the luring scent of evergreen plants surrounding me ☀️ With my floral jewels all the sensations become real. I don’t even have to close my eyes.
