VAN CLEEF & ARPELS PATRIMONIAL HIGH JEWELLERY EXHIBITION, LONDON
I was excited to come back to the new Van Cleef & Arpels New Bond Street boutique in London and raise the curtain on a patrimonial exhibition showcasing the heritage and craftsmanship of the Place Vendôme High Jeweler with almost 40 creations. From February 10th, 2017 to March 15th, 2017, vintage pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels collection will be on display alongside a selection of Heritage collection Jewelry. If you are passionate about the history of jewellery you will love this exhibition. Address: Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, 9 New Bond Street W1S 3SW London
The history of Van Cleef & Arpels began with a love story when, in 1895, Estelle Arpels, the daughter of a precious stone merchant, married Alfred Van Cleef, the son of lapidary and diamond broker. In 1906, their passion for jewellery and entrepreneurial spirit let them to go into business with Estelle’s brothers, Charles Julien and Louis, and open a boutique at 22, Place Vendome. During the first half of century, the Maison developed new expertise and creations that would become real signature: The Mystery Setting technique, the convertible jewel Passe-Partout or the innovative Zip necklace inspired by the zipper.

The elegance and ingenuity of the creations, but also the use of the most precious materials allowed Van Cleef & Arpels to win over royal families and personalities of the cinema. Over the decades the Maison has remained faithful to a highly distinctive style characterized by creativity, refinement and poetry. Whether inspired by nature, couture or the imagination, its creations evoke a timeless world of harmony and beauty.
???What you need to know about Van Cleef & Arpels MYSTERY Setting which has become their signature and was patented in 1933…. The technique reveals the gems while their gold mounting remains invisible ❤❤❤ Its effect is produced by thin gold rails, into which specially cut stones are delicately inserted one by one. Rubies are most often used, along with sapphires and emeralds. It takes between 3 and 5 hours to cut each individual gemstone; a lapidary may spend several hundred hours working on a single jewel ???@LizaUrla #jewelryinfluencer #gemologue #vancleef #vancleefarpels #patrimonialexhibition #vcanewbondstreet #mysterysetting #invisiblesetting GEMOLOGUE.com
