The timeless insect jewellery trend has always been a part of permanent collections of my favourite jewellery brands: Bibi van der Velden, Annoushka, Jessica Pass and Iradj Moini. This summer it fuelled the inspiration of the new Moritz Glik collection presented at COUTURE Las Vegas. I absolutely could not miss the chance to style a summer getaway look with his sparkly little creatures!

Along with Moritz Glik signature loose gemstone Kaleidoscope shakers, I created a buzzing layered necklace with ladybug and dragonfly pendants. This catchy combination is the perfect accent for my simple Cult Gaia white cut-out dress! I had so much fun decorating my hand with butterfly tattoos in honour of the transformable bumble bee ring I’m wearing. Welcome to my gem hive!

“Bugs have always fascinated me! The first one I did was a ladybug – it’s said that when a ladybug lands on you it’s a sign of good fortune. So imagine having a gold and diamonds lady bug just laying on your neck all the time! Then I made the dragonfly, a widely recognized symbol of transformation and self realization, which meant a lot to me personally. The most recent one was the convertible ring/pendant/brooch bumble bee. I made it to raise awareness to the importance of these little creatures… Their extinction is already a reality in many places and we need to protect them for the sake of our planet’s future” – Moritz Glik
