QUINTESSENTIALLY WEDDINGS ATELIER, THE DORCHESTER
Sooner or later we all get bitten by the wedding bug – the flowers, the crystal, the jewellery, the gowns, and let’s not forget about the groom! Well, I was bitten (or should I say, smitten) the moment I heard about Quintessentially Weddings Atelier and their annual show – “The world’s finest artisans, all in one house!” It was my turn to put on my tiara and be a princess bride for the day at The Dorchester, Park Lane – luxury at its best.
If you’re going to plan the most magnificent wedding of all time, you’re going to need the world’s finest wedding planners. But all in one place? It’s almost too much to wrap my head around! This was going to be a truly exceptional experience. I was in the hands of the best wedding planners in the world, and would meet some of the industry’s finest suppliers, a.k.a. – artisans and experts in their field.
It was beyond exciting being in the presence of these experts – hand-picked just for me! Exceptional service and the best advice from world-class designers, florists, gastronomics, photographers….I had the pleasure of meeting experts from Harrods, Christian Louboutin, Suzanne Neville, Suzie Turner, La Perla, Laduree and many more.

This stylish affair kicked off with a private tour of the show. We were soon plied with champagne (courtesy of Laurent Perrier) and hair & beauty treatments thanks to some of the Atelier’s finest experts.
An extravagant collection curated by the Atelier’s world-class wedding planners, this exclusive event invites some of the most distinguished brides and grooms to create their own fairytale wedding. You can catch the next show in Dubai.

SWEETS BY LADUREE
This is how I’d approach these cupcakes: I’d remove the decorative white chocolate from the top and use it like a chip to dip into the rich icing below. Then I’d disrobe the cupcake of its frilly skirt and see if I could get the whole thing into my mouth without anyone looking!
If I can’t have this as my centerpiece, then I’ll wear it on my head like a crown!
Love to bits – Brigadeiro’s sweet texture is halfway between truffle and fudge. This is where you might lose me – somewhere between truffle and fudge – I’m on my way to a chocolate-induced coma! But before I get too indulgent, let me tell you the story behind Brigadeiro. He was an air force Brigadier by the name of Eduardo Gomez and was running for the 1945 Brazilian election. All the women loved him – he was tall, dark and handsome! And had the bluest eyes. He was so adored they named a confection after him that is loved by Brazilians to this day.
