CHRISTMAS IN JULY HARRODS LONDON
Being invited to Harrods for Christmas in July is a bit like being on the best party list. It fills you with the excitement of Christmas morning and your belly full of butterflies.
As I approached the four-storey house that Harrods had decked out with their usual grand elegance, I imagined I was walking into a Christmas dreamhouse – a beautiful gingerbread house, if you will, with marvelous red brick and warm wooden interiors, full of toys, gifts and the wonderful scents of Christmas.
The perfect way for the press to preview Christmas and give you all a little taste of what’s in store this year at this famous department store in London.
Sensual wreaths decking the halls with gorgeous colour and the festive scent of pine. A floral work of art! You know how much I love flowers and circular motifs. They always gets my attention.
The regal and courtly theme continues in this opulent Christmas tree. Did I mention one of these gifts under the tree is for me!
Adding sparkle to the tree with gifts of gold and peace, this cheerful diamanté dove wears her jewels well, but if it were my tree, it would be diamonds, rubies and pearls, you know it would!
Anyone for tea? This charming, checkerboard tree ornament adds a bit of contrast and panache. Love the added touch of holly, so reminiscent of Christmas.
Just love the ornate design of this tree decoration. I can imagine this as a beautiful, musical charm, set with diamonds and crafted with golden guipure.
A different take on a Christmas bauble, this tabletop ornament gets pride of place on my table. I love how the carousel horse is under glass as if captured in time. It takes me back to my childhood and isn’t that what Christmas is all about – remembering the magic of the festive season and feeling like a kid again?
The colours are much softer up here on the second floor and so are the decorations. Just look at this sumptuous, furry tree bauble. Love how the colour and texture contrasts with the tree. And in case you hadn’t noticed, I found the jewellery! Bulgari, Carolina Bucci and Cartier!
And who wouldn’t want a pair of LV boxing gloves? Pure decadence and the perfect gift for another dear friend. Happy Christmas!
Harrods didn’t forget the kids, either. Children love Christmas and this little Bella is no different. She has good taste, I have to say. I would totally rock this party dress!
On my way up to the third floor, the scent of roses and eucalyptus catches my attention and I notice a herd of Loewe’s elephants! These leather zip pouches are just adorable. #HarrodsChristmas
Finally made it to the big girl dresses! These are gorgeous. Imagine accenting these beautiful gowns in diamonds, rubies and emeralds for the Christmas season!
Love the circularity of these amulette de Cartier rings. Reminds me of a clockface frozen in time.
Just stunning with this Tom Ford clutch.
I feel right at home in this house. It’s as if they knew I was coming.
My take on Christmas baubles and an elegant Stella McCartney clutch.
A gem for every day of the month by Carolina Bucci, so you never forget!
Remember that gift under the tree? Here it is! Bursting with colour and fragrance, a classy reminder of a beautiful day spent in true Harrods elegance.
