DIOR JOAILLERIE FLOWER-GEMS JARDIN DE MILLY-LA-FORÊT HARRODS
Last week I visited Harrods luxury jewellery room to try on Dior Joaillerie. Among all the collections on offer from Dior Jewellery, it’s the Jardin de Milly-la-Forêt which is my favourite.
Unique and original, it’s easy to spend hours in wonderment of all the fine details that are featured. A piece of jewellery which will never be boring or dull also one that will never go unnoticed!
This collection is a powerful conversation starter, one that will encourage adoration wherever it is worn.
Inspired by the flora and fauna in the garden at Milly-la-Forêt and designed by the talented Victoire de Castellane, the multi-coloured fine flower-gems are enhanced with vibrant coloured lacquer. As a result each piece is bold with a strong sense of identity.
I am very fond of Victoire de Castellane’s talent and commitment to Dior. The designer first attempted to create jewellery at the age of five! Her passion shone through years later when she designed costume jewellery for Chanel. In 1998, Victoire de Castellane joined Dior as the first Creative Director of their new jewelry department, a role she continues to this day.
My favourite Dior flower-gems are named after village on the outskirts of Paris, where Christian Dior bought a house the day after his first fashion show. The Jardin de Milly-la-Forêt collections are entirely hand-crafted and require all the know-how and skill-set of the best jewellers and lacquer craftsmen. Aside from the gold and precious stones used, the true value of the jewels take root in the artistic lacquer work applied with a brush. The technique allows for over one hundred colours to be featured (89 are included in the Diorette collection alone). So the designs are both playful and romantic, each jewel in the Jardin de Milly-la-Forêt is a collectible in it’s own right. We are excited to see what the future brings for Dior Jardin de Milly-la-Forêt collection!
Dior Joaillerie relocated to a larger boutique spanning over 500 stylish square feet featuring a dedicated VIP area in Harrods.? The brand’s signature colour palate of white and grey will beautifully reflect the House of Dior’s ultra-luxurious French style.
