WOMEN JEWELLERY DESIGNERS BOOK REVIEW
The Antique Collectors’ Club newest book, Women Jewellery Designers by Juliet Weir-de La Rochefoucauld, is a sumptuous feast for the eyes and the perfect gift for any jewellery lover.
It is rather surprising that throughout time the world of jewellery has always had men at its helm even though it is women who are usually adorned with their creations. However, this book highlights the shift from the male-dominated world and showcases the diversity of style and the high quality of jewellery produced by women since the turn of the 20th century.
This large, but very elegantly designed book presents the work of women jewellery designers from all over the world from early 20th century until now and examines the key figures and movements in jewellery design, including Gabrielle Chanel, Suzanne Belperron and Jeanne Toussaint.
Each designer presented in this book has many of examples of their work beautifully illustrated. Juliet Weir-de La Rochefoucauld also discusses their backgrounds, inspirations and influences and showcases a carefully selected assortment of their work.
