The book is a photographic odyssey of my jewellery travels and discoveries, featuring inspirational and eye-catching photographs by me and the wonderful Julia Flit. It’s a photographic collection of jewellery street style, together with my very own tips on styling your jewellery.

I’m also very proud to be part of the ACC Publishing family, a world leading publisher with a 50-year heritage, who are known for their critically acclaimed books on jewellery from Van Cleef & Arpels, the Christie’s jewellery archive and the London jewellers, Wartski. Their bestselling book and my favourite, Understanding Jewellery, is must-read for every jewellery lover!

GEMOLOGUE: Street Jewellery Styles & Styling Tips is a unique offering and would make someone an exceptionally fine gift. I’ve always wanted a book like this and have searched the world over in all the finest shops – Colette in Paris, before it closed, Corso Como in Milan, and every independent bookshop I could find. Despite my endeavours, it appeared such a book didn’t exist, so that became my inspiration for this book.

You might be familiar with how I started GEMOLOGUE. It was during my GIA degree in NYC in 2009. Back then and even now, the jewellery world was yet to embrace the Internet. Unlike the pages of the fashion magazines, the Internet was bare. Most people wanted to protect their precious jewels and keep them hidden away from the public eye. The best jewels are always found in private collections. Now the world can see these beautiful gems in my new book. I’ve put together my favourites alongside my own jewellery styling in collaboration with various designers from the jungles of Brazil, to the beaches of Mexico, and the streets of London to the streets of Sao Paulo, NYC, Paris and Hong Kong. It was not an easy task choosing my favourite shots from thousands and thousands of photographs taken over the past nine years, but I’m so proud of the result and I know you’re going to love it. Now I’m ready for a second and third edition!

For me, jewellery is the ultimate means of self-expression, essential to our identification as humans, and something we’ve been wearing long before clothes! Jewellery is our armour and precious stones are our amulets. I hope GEMOLOGUE: Street Jewellery Styles & Styling Tips inspires fashion and jewellery lovers everywhere to find their own unique style.
