SILVIA FURMANOVICH BOOK REVIEW
Inside you will find the stories of the craftsmen behind Furmanovich’s most magnificent pieces. Meet the master miniature painters of India, alongside the Native American women who practice intricate beading and a Brazilian artisan who has preserved the ancient art of wood marquetry in his small Amazonian community.
With an artist’s eye and an explorer’s heart, Silvia travels the world in search of inspiration and translates her findings into pieces that evoke their source and convey a unique sense of style all at once.
My relationship with Silvia Furmanovich began more than 10 years ago in my early twenties, when I fell in love with her jewellery. Since then our paths have crossed both personally and professionally, and whose magic I have been experiencing year after year. I am sure you remember when I was the face of the Silvia Furmanovich marquetry collection. It is so exciting to see a book released by one of my favourite jewellery designers from Brazil and I know you’re going to love it.
For the Furmanovich family, the world is a Pandora box overflowing with possibility and inspiration. Given the flood of visual stimulation that surrounds us in our busy lives and on our multiple screens, it is no small achievement for a jewellery brand to create a body of work that is truly original and also instantly recognisable. You can see this right away in Silvia Furmanovich marquetry.
Silvia Furmanovich’s singular approach to fine jewellery design is deeply inspired by the natural world and the history of ornamentation. I couldn’t agree more. Her masterpieces have captured connoisseur’s attention for years, and her one-of-a-kind creations have been honoured with awards and sought by collectors around the world. Furmanovich’s intricate creations are a pairing of beautiful art historical references and masterful design. Silvia Furmanovich will inspire jewelry connoisseurs, art aficionados, and anyone with a creative spirit. And I hope she will inspire you too.

In her new book by Assouline, Silvia got me thinking that it’s not the beauty of the gold and gemstones in jewellery that makes it precious, but the skill of the hands that created it. A lasting legacy is more about building a future that keeps ancient crafts alive and puts sustainability at its core. Do you agree?
Such an amazing book to gift to a friend. I’ve been so fortunate during this pandemic to meet with jewellery designers and connect face to face. I treasure the special moments I have collected during my jewellery journey, and I hope you have too.
The Silvia Furmanovich Book is a jewellery designers’ journey that is so inspiring and humbling. Do you enjoy jewellery books?
