Animal jewellery is something I’ve always loved as it reflects my deep connection with all of nature’s wonderful creatures. The giraffe is one such creature that I find myself instantly drawn to. So when I spotted this animal totem ring from Musathirteen, I knew it was my animal spirit.

Sometimes an animal totem spirit chooses you and other times you choose it. You’ll know it instantly because of the energy and special feeling it gives you.

This connection with the animal spirit is something we’ve learned from native and indigenous cultures, typically Native American, Mayan, Celtic, Egyptian and African. Held sacred for generations, animal spirits reveal themselves through the qualities and characteristics of these creatures. Through our connection with animal totems, we learn qualities about ourselves and they help us grow.

Wearing this Musathirteen giraffe silver ring helps me get into the spirit of things!

But why the giraffe? With feet firmly planted on the ground but with a view of great height, the giraffe symbolizes a visionary with the ability to stretch itself and reach for the highest fruit. As a jewellery insider with an eye on future trends, I can relate to the giraffe’s symbolic meaning of great vision. Its speaks to me on this level and inspires me to reach higher. Isn’t that exactly what jewellery is all about? Not just a something pretty to be worn, but a symbol of our spiritual identity with the powers of protection.

The Musathirteen giraffe silver ring speaks to me on a whole other level and reminds me why I am so enthralled with jewellery. I’m forever finding inspiration in every piece I try on and this ring is no different. That’s the power of animal totem jewellery and Musathirteen has found a voice in this collection.

It’s that long neck again. The giraffe’s vision is a focused on the horizon. If the giraffe is your totem like mine, I’m willing to bet you’re a natural visionary. Most of you who feel an affinity for the giraffe will admit to having a knack for seeing future trends. Jewellery trends in my case and I am sure animal jewellery are here to stay.
