JEWELRY & FASHION-FORWARD PACKING, NEW HOTEL ATHENS
If are looking for ideas for a chic city break or for an exotic destination, I’m going to have it covered. Here is my jewellery & fashion diary from the latest trip to New Hotel Athens.
New Hotel, in the heart of modern Athens, is a short 30 min drive from the airport. The hotel lobby is show stopping thanks to interiors by Brazilian visionaries Humberto and Fernando Campana. The interior design features art crafted from reclaimed chairs.
Small but cosy. Ideal for quick daily workouts.
Since it was Easter, the hotel was fully booked. My room was on the small side, Superior Room, but still stylish with very thoughtful and practical interior design. My favourite things were a table mirror built into the desk, the signature “staircase” chair and sharp-edged golden washbasins, which were practically sculptures and reminded me of faceted diamonds. For your stay ask for a room on a higher floor for better views and because the hotel is on a noisy city road.
As I am very much a foodie traveller, I was very impressed by the food at the New Hotel. The attention to detail was impressive. The chef soma added a touch of creativity to even to the simplest of dishes, including my oat porridge in the morning. New hotel also has one of the best pies in town, and breakfast is the best time to have one. My favourites were with chicken and spinach with cheese.
My favourite place at the hotel is the roof terrace decorated like a living room with a picturesque view of the Acropolis.
The perfect hotel for a weekend stay for young stylish people to discover the city
