I visited Liberty in London and met Danielle and Jodie Snyder, Florida-born sisters and designers behind the widely popular costume jewellery brand Dannijo. Danielle and Jodie are absolutely lovely, and they showed me their colourful selection of beautiful necklaces at my favourite department store in London’s Soho. Liberty opened in 1875 selling ornaments, fabric and objets d’art from Japan and the East.

Dannijo Evite

To own a Dannijo necklace is to own a slice of global sustainable industry: since the brand’s inception, Dannijo jewellery has been produced with initiatives providing empowerment and opportunity for women in underdeveloped areas around the world. Their jewels are loved by celebrities including Natalie Portman, Beyonce, Blake Lively, Oprah and Rihanna.

Dannijo is an epitome of a very successful emerging brand, who managed to stand on two feet from the very start. They also base their strategy on making a difference in the world, and helping out those who are worse off than us.  Danielle and Jodie spent their childhood and teenage years in Florida, and taught themselves how to make jewellery while at school. Once in New York, the sisters created a capsule collection for for Danielle’s non-profit L.W.A.L.A. (Live With A Lifelong Ambition). The ball started rolling, their dream of turning their passion into a successful brand came true.
