MELIE PERFUME PENDANT REVIEW

Melie Edna Perfume Necklace in pink gold, ornamented with sapphires, instantly caught my eye – a beautiful pendant and a mini-perfume bottle in one! Ednâ means ‘the world’. Edna Series from Melie symbolizes love and the fact that the world rotates only around the lover and the loved when someone is in love.

I have developed a strong love for perfumes since I was a little girl. Our house always smelt of flowers growing in our garden- roses, geraniums, jasmine – and so I grown to love the floral scents and consequently perfumes, since I wanted to smell like a flower myself. In addition, perfumes make your presence unique, and leaving a faint  trail of scent behind you makes you memorable!

I absolutely love the packaging! The packaging it utterly luxurious, and since most jewellery packaging is a little on the boring side – it was a real pleasure to receive the necklace in something a little more unusual! To me packaging is rather important, especially if you are gifted a jewel, since it is the first thing you see!

This perfume pendant is a tiny and intricate objet d’art, and since it combines two of my passions – jewellery and perfume – it instantly caught my eye some time ago!

Of course I picked the perfume pendant encrusted in sapphires, since this blue gemstone is my favourite! I really like to length of the chain, since it is quite long (75cm) and can be easily incorporated into a layered necklace look (you can read my article about the art of necklace layering here). The weight of the pendant itself is heavy and feels nice on the neck. There is a small opening for pouring in the perfume, very convenient to use!  When you apply a scent, apply it to pulse points such as the folds in the crook of your elbow and back of knees, wrist, neck and cleavage.  The design is perfect for doing this – the chain is long enough you don’t need to take it off to apply.
I will be filling this necklace with my favourite Byredo perfume, which I discovered in NYC back in 2009, and have been somewhat addicted to it ever since! And I always get so many compliments when I wear it!

This is a wonderful necklace to travel with, since perfume bottles tend to be bulky and on the heavy side. Over the years I have used small vaporisers, since for me travelling without a perfume is not an option! So this Melie pendant necklace would be the perfect travel companion. Why not make your own bespoke perfume in Paris with a master parfumeur next time you are in town and visit Van Cleef school (read about my experience here) to learn more about stones on your perfume bottle

Available at Melie for £3150.
