BACKSTAGE PASS: TOUCH OF COLOUR, MASTERED WITH NICK KNIGHT, GEMOLOGUE
The stage is set for another photo session with Julia Flit in this second installment of the Nick Knight Mastered program. And if I could only see through this lace mask, I would tell you what it is all about!
The thing I love about Julia is that we can both be at the same event but we will each walk away with a different impression.
So when we collaborate on projects like this one, I get to relive the whole experience again but through her eyes.
Julia finds inspiration from many realms. This photo shoot was inspired by our trip to the Frieze Art Fair London, and McQueen’s Spring 2016 Collection. In two words: monochromatic and texture.
Soft leather, tattered lace, pristine cotton, floral patterns, oh and puppies!
This sculptural piece of jewellery you keep seeing is from emerging designer, Beau Han Xu.
It’s such a delicate and beautiful piece. Its liquid, rhythmic quality mimics the effect we were creating through movement and a whole day of jumping in heels!
Hello, wardrobe change! Lace, lace and more lace!
No oysters this time. Just masks, lace and heels!
How long can you hold your breath?
A professional always stays in character, long enough to check her email during a lighting check. I have to get this week’s newsletter out, no matter what! Don’t want to disappoint my followers. If you haven’t signed up yet, check it out below.
If I didn’t jump, you’d never know I was here.
I feel like a wallflower!
Just trying to blend in.
The masters’ tools – T Arrigoni jewels
It’s amazing what a difference colour makes. You can almost feel the difference in character between the black sets and the white sets.
The angles and the texture in this photo create the illusion of movement without moving at all.
Artist and muse.
Am I stopping for tea or this part of the scene. Is this art or real life?
Thank goodness for puppies and curious kids or else I’d never take a break.
Julia, are you photobombing your own photo shoot!!!
