In contrast no one seems to scream out about fine jewellery. Instead we are advised to take our time, to research the brand, compare prices. Also, the buyer may be into fair-trade gold (green gold) and ethically-sourced branded coloured gemstones like Gemfields, then there will be the question of whether one is prepared to pay premium for these precious gems. But here’s the thing: Your bag, maybe even the fabulous pair of shoes you are wearing right now will likely have cost more than your favourite everyday fine jewellery. (Not including the delights in your hidden jewellery box or engagement ring for the lucky ladies!)

Boodles

The Boodles ‘Maze’ collection will be launched online from the 1st September 2014 for those who want to be first to own the beautiful gems, (it will be available in their boutiques in a months time). How do you feel about shopping for fine jewellery online? Do you agree with Boodles decision to launch their new collection online before bringing it into their Sloane Street and Bond Street boutiques later on?

Boodles

Founded in 1798, Boodles is Britain’s leading retailer of fine, bespoke diamond jewellery. There is something trustworthy about a brand that has been around for a long time, from the 18th century in fact! Boodles is a recognised brand known for creating gorgeous jewellery that is very relevant to today’s fashions.

So in traditional GEMOLOGUE style I went on down to Boodles, New Bond Street to investigate for myself! I tried on these beauties and even took them for a walk to Cecconi’s next door. From the collection I picked out a pair of white and rose gold earrings, rings and necklaces. White gold is a favourite of mine, different kind of precious metals can work better with certain skin tones and complexions than others. I find that white gold can be mixed well with rose gold and diamonds, as well as the more vibrant and deep colours, even a hint of black for a supreme contrasting effect.

The new “Maze” collection is designed as affordable fine jewellery. Take a closer look and it’s your perfect every day jewellery: Classical but playful thanks mainly to the glimmering diamonds spread across each piece.

Boodles

The inspiration behind this Boodles collection was the accurate and organised lines of a maze when seen from above. Some of the largest maze’s are architectural masterpieces, symbols of mystery and adventure. You could even see them as a shield from the chaos of the outside world- an idea that I love!

I took the time to really check out these cool jewels for myself. One of the first things I noticed when trying on the jewels was the weight of the gold. It’s heaviness is pleasently surprising, especially when combined with a watch when dressing up one’s arm. The proof is in the pudding! Why not see for yourself? The next time you are out jewellery shopping, try on 18kt solid gold or even better ask for 22 karat (not so easy to find when shopping outside of India).

Even though the rings are created with precision, they have a wonderful organic quality within their main circular design.

One of the best things about the collection is how the large diamond in the centre doesn’t take attention away from the rest of the piece. The diamonds, gold and design all come together in a wonderful harmony I just adore!

Boodles

Take it from me- Boodles diamonds at one’s favorite London coffee and tea place is a brilliant combination!

Boodles

“To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.”

For me each piece in the Boodles “Maze” collection is a powerful and precious talisman to guide its wearer through the maze of life everyday.

Boodles

The idea that a piece of jewellery and it’s symbolism can be powerful is a great one. I like the idea of wearing a talisman to see one through life’s hurdles, a jewel that protects from bad energies. The ‘Maze’ collection is so clearly jewellery that takes on a special significance, each piece can be worn for years if not generations and always be on trend.
