SYBARITE BREAKFAST THE ARTS CLUB MAYFAIR LONDON

I visited Margarita and Alyona at the Arts Club and tried on their animated and whimsical creations. Sybarite was established in 2012 by the mother and daughter team, both are trained architects. My favourite pieces are the Pocket Rocket Pendant from Heritage Collection, a piece that really appealed to Liza’s Russian upbringing, and the oversized Opium cocktail ring is a delight to wear!

I love that each piece at Sybarite jewellery is not static. I love the movement in jewellery, a quality that is not always easy to find. Other fine jewellery with movement includes the Lotus Ring by Van Cleef & Arpels and Lotus Ring by QEELING. Jewels that incorporate movement are unpredictable, many with a hidden surprise transporting us to the rosy wonderment of childhood. A time when we discovered new things every day and moreover, the world existed solely for our entertainment and delight. This spirit of perfectionism encouraged Margarita and Alyona to establish Sybarite.

The legend about Sibaris, an ancient Greek City in Southern Italy and its inhabitants, came to us from Seneca, a Roman dramatist. According to him, one of the inhabitants of Sibaris (a Sybarite), covered his bed with rose petals to make it comfortable, but he complained the next morning as he did not sleep a wink – one petal was creased!

The Dancing Dall collection consists of rotating rings inspired by the great Ballets Russes. With your every move her dress will start spinning creating a whirl of diamonds that will astonish and mesmerise you by their mysterious dance.
