SHOP THE MALACHITE JEWELLERY EDIT
MALACHITE DAYS. Starting today with the world on my ears. So many of you loved yesterday’s malachite post and asked me to curate a selection of jewels featuring this wonderful gift of nature.
All this green got me missing the beautiful Brazil – I knew it would happen, just didn’t think it would be this soon! Malachite jewellery will be my consolation for the day. Are you also a malachite lover? Looking at the vivid green that characterises this gorgeous stone, I wouldn’t believe anyone can resist the beauty of this unique and unmistakable stone. Malachite is often called the “stone of transformation” maybe that is what it is also considered a protection stone which brings harmony and absorbs negative energies .
GEM FACT
- Malachite may have been mined in Egypt as early as 4,000 BCE.
- Not only was it used as a gemstone and ornamental material, the stone was ground into pigments for painting and cosmetics.
- Not until the Industrial Revolution were synthetic pigments created that could rival its colour.
