THE ROCK HOUND FAIRTRADE EARRINGS REVIEW

Jewellery made from Fairtrade Gold is something, as a jewellery influencer, I feel very passionate about. As shoppers of jewellery, knowing that the gold and gemstones in your jewellery are sourced from Fairtrade and conflict-free mines is very important. If we don’t care where or how our gemstones and precious metals are obtained, then we are no different from the unethical mines that exploit small-scale miners around the world. Fairtrade mines offer a lifeline to low-income and small-scale miners, and that’s something to feel good about. #LetsStartaGoldRush

Now that I’ve got that off my chest, I can move on and tell you why I’m so excited about these Fairtrade 18ct yellow gold hoop earrings from the Rock Hound GoldRush Collection. Every woman needs a pair of gold hoop earrings. Not only are these sourced from Fairtrade gold, no two pieces are the same!

With such a design, the gold nuggets seem to float in the air, as their unique, textured surface catches the light (and everyone’s eye!) I call them my Fairtrade gold melts because they remind me of chocolate. So yammi – as Annoushka Ducas likes to say! If you are as passionate about Fairtrade jewellery as I am, then you’ll love these GoldRush earrings by the Rock Hound.

Like the rest of the Rock Hound Gold Rush collection, the gold used in these delightful hoops comes from artisanal and small-scale mines (ASM) that meet the Fairtrade Standard for Gold. What this means is the people who work hard in the mines all day received a Fairtrade Minimum Price and Premium. This helps the whole community flourish and offers them the opportunity of higher quality of life. How do I know they are Fairtrade? Because of the Fairtrade gold mark stamped in the gold. This tells you the origin of this particular gold and is fully traceable back to the source, so there’s never any doubt.

“How would you feel if you knew that the gemstone in your ring, given as a token of love, had been mined by a 14 year old boy who had to work a 24 hour shift, 500m underground, by the light of his head-torch and who may not have even been paid because they hadn’t hit the seam yet? If it were me, I wouldn’t want to wear it.” The Rock Hound
